Introducing AlphaSense for PowerPoint and Excel

Today, we announced the launch of AlphaSense for PowerPoint and Excel, native assistants that operate directly in the tools where so many of our users work everyday. These add-ins now join a suite of work product creation tools that are built to solve a persistently thorny challenge: The last mile of every deal, pitch, and board update — manual, time-intensive formatting — eats the hours that should go to winning deals, shaping strategy, and driving decisions. Too often, the real thinking happens in whatever time is left over.

With this launch, we’re looking to make that old, inefficient process a thing of the past.

Go from Research to Slide in the Same Thread

Earlier this year we launched the next generation of Generative Search, a significant upgrade to our core research experience inside AlphaSense, which featured the ability to create small-scale, first-draft deliverables directly from the platform. It was an exciting step forward, but it was really just the beginning.

With recent upgrades to the experience, users can now leverage Generative Search to:

  • Create decks of any size, from a single-slide company profile to a 40-slide pitch book, without ever leaving their research session.
  • Upload their firm's template or style guide so the outputs are on-brand from the very first draft — no reformatting required.
  • Use custom agents to automate the generation of recurring deliverables — monitor alerts, earnings summaries, sector updates — and have them land as polished drafts, not raw notes.
  • Generate slides directly from structured workspaces like our VDR workspace, turning organized research into formatted output without any manual assembly.

Our slide agent within Generative Search has been fine-tuned for banking, strategy, and investment deliverables like CIMs, pitch books, board presentations, IC materials, and strategy reviews. Like everything within AlphaSense, the outputs are 100% grounded in and traceable back to high-fidelity data and content from across analyst research, expert calls, public and private financials, company documents, and your own internal materials.

While this is intended to get you a strong first draft, the last ten percent — the formatting pass, the model update, the final review before a deck leaves the building, and the tedious cycle of turning comments — still happens in PowerPoint and Excel.

PowerPoint and Excel are natural extensions of the research and analysis already happening inside AlphaSense; it’s broker research, expert call transcripts, filings, and earnings data that form the foundation of every model built and every deck sent by our clients. With these add-ins, we're eliminating the copy-paste, tab-switching shuffle that sat between the research and the deliverable — the work that used to happen across three tools in sequence now happens simultaneously.

AlphaSense for PowerPoint

AlphaSense for PowerPoint brings the power of AlphaSense into your working decks, reading your existing slides, understanding your structure, and making targeted edits. Rather than pulling you out of PowerPoint to do research and then back again to format, it brings AlphaSense's full content library — 500M+ documents spanning broker research, earnings transcripts, filings, expert interviews, and your firm's own internal documents — directly into the slide pane.

Ask it to add a funding timeline, update the market overview with last quarter's earnings data, or generate a new competitive section based on recent filings or expert call transcripts. It indexes your existing slides and your slide master to understand the structure and context before it acts; so it’s not just creating on-brand slides, it’s creating on-brand slides that know the argument they’re supposed to be making.

AlphaSense for PowerPoint can also leverage those same perspectives to review your slides. You can ask it to scan for logical gaps, stale data, or inconsistencies between slides; less a spell-checker and more a second set of eyes that already knows what AlphaSense has on the topic.

AlphaSense for Excel

AlphaSense for Excel brings that same intelligence into the spreadsheet, where assumptions are made, strategic scenarios get tested, and the numbers that feed every downstream decision originate.

AlphaSense for Excel is designed for the way financial analyses are actually built: iteratively, on top of existing structure. In natural language, you can add a quarterly revenue build with scenario cases, layer in an LBO debt schedule, or restructure the assumptions tab — and the model extends the logic instead of replacing it. Because the edits are surgical, existing formulas and dependencies stay intact, so errors can't creep in and travel downstream into the decision rooms where this analysis ultimately lands.

The true value arrives when the model connects to AlphaSense's content. While most Excel agents can pull financials from public filings, AlphaSense for Excel provides full source traceability. And since it’s connected to the AlphaSense platform, you can ask it to pressure-test your revenue assumptions against what management said on the last three earnings calls, or cross-reference your margin build against broker consensus. The goal isn't just faster modeling — it's catching the places where a model's inputs have quietly diverged from the underlying research before someone else finds it.

Early beta customers have used AlphaSense for Excel to:

  • Pressure test model assumptions against broker research, expert commentary, and management guidance and sentiment from earnings calls
  • Pull cited public company financials, segment data, and KPIs directly into models without manual entry or breaking formatting or formula dependencies
  • Build and populate comps tables and trading multiples from live AlphaSense data
  • Spin up LBO, DCF, and M&A models based on their firms’ templates from natural language prompts
  • Refresh data across a model when new filings or earnings drop without copy/pasting from filings

Two Apps, One Connected Workflow

Just like the decks they power, AlphaSense for PowerPoint and Excel are better together — because most pitchbooks, board presentations, and IC materials are backed by the financials, assumptions, and revenue models living in a spreadsheet one tab over. With both add-ins, you can work across that boundary without breaking context: update a comps table from inside PowerPoint, or turn a valuation model into a football field chart without leaving Excel. The research thread, numbers, and narrative all stay connected.

And soon, charts and tables in your deck will link directly to your Excel models, so when assumptions change, slides update automatically without re-exporting or re-pasting.

We've talked to analysts at length about what they need from AI assistance in their workflows.
